Grinder Stopped WorkingUpdated a month ago

Regular maintenance is completely normal and helps keep your Aarke Grinder performing at its best. Over time, fine coffee particles and oils can build up inside the chute, which may affect operation.

If your grinder isn’t working as expected, the motor may be temporarily stuck due to coffee buildup in the chute. When this happens, you might notice the motor sounds different before it stops automatically — this is a built-in safety feature that prevents damage to the motor.

This issue can occasionally occur when using oily or dark-roast beans, as their natural oils tend to leave behind residue that affects the grinder’s performance.

Inspecting the Chute

Carefully inspect the chute, especially around the finger guard (the small metal piece inside the chute). This guard is an important safety feature that prevents fingers from entering, but it can sometimes cause jams when coffee grounds accumulate around it.

How to Clean the Chute

  1. Use the cleaning brush included with your grinder to remove any visible buildup inside the chute.

  2. Brush thoroughly around the finger guard and chute opening.

  3. Reach deep into the chute, as coffee particles can sometimes collect near the entrance and block the flow.

  4. After each use, tap the underside of the chute with the metal cup to help dislodge any stuck grounds and prevent future clogs.

Additional Tips

  • Oily beans tend to leave more residue, so clean the chute more frequently when using them.

  • Regular cleaning keeps your grinder running smoothly and helps protect the motor.

If you’ve completed these steps and your grinder still doesn’t start, please contact Aarke Support for further assistance.
